Our Story
Hi! I am Jamye
In 3 years, I went from living the single life to married, mom of 1, and caring for my aging parents. I'm cognitive psychologist with a focus on aging populations and the use of technology. My entire life has revolved around aging populations...seems strange to type that, but it's true. My mother's mom had Alzheimer's Disease and moved in with my parents before I was born. I watched my grandmother decline and was an expert at unfolding a wheel chair and popping it into place by the time I was 10 years old. It was my normal. When my grandmother wasn't being cared for by "grannysitters" or my mom, I was her caretaker. I watched her after school from around age 10 until 18. My grandmother died my freshman year of college but I never lost my desire to understand aging populations. I focused my doctoral research on older adults and how technology can help them as they age. Now I'm in the thick of it and applying everything I learned since birth to help navigate life with my aging parents.
